Materials Needed: 7 skeins Bargain Bunny yarn, sizes 4 and 6 circular needles.
Gauge: 5 stitches = 1 inch in stockinet stitch on size 6 needle.
K = knit P = purl
SSK = skip one stitch as if to knit, slip second stitch as if to knit, insert left needle into two slipped stitches and knit together.
K2tog = knit two stitches together.
YO = yarn over
Using size 4 needle, cast on 80 stitches
Work K2, P2 ribbing for 1 1/2 inches.
Change to size 6 needle. Knit one row.
Next row: * = place marker on needle.
YO, *K1, YO, K25, YO, *K1, YO, K13, YO, *K1, YO, K25, YO, *K1, YO, K13
Knit one row.
Next row: Knit to marker, YO, K1, YO. Repeat to end of row.
Repeat these two rows until piece measures 11 inches, or to desired length, measured along the seam, not including the ribbing. Do no skimp on the length! Stop, place some of the stitches on extra circular needles and try the sweater on. Make sure it is long enough so it will not bind you under the arms.
After a few rows, the seam stitches become obvious and I find it more convenient to remove the markers.
Once the yoke is the desired length, place all sleeve stitches between seam stitches on holders.
Place marker at beginning of row and continue knitting around all remaining stitches until the body measures 13 1/2 inches, or to desired length, from dividing row.
Change to size 4 needle and work K2, P2 ribbing for 2 inches (adjusting the number of stitches on the first row if needed). Bind off.
Place sleeve stitches on size 6 needle.
Place marker at beginning of row.
Knit one row.
Next row: K1, SSK, knit to last 2 stitches, K2tog.
Knot 3 rows even.
Repeat these last 4 rows until you have 50 stitches left. Knit even until sleeve measures 13 1/2 inches, decreasing to 44 stitches on the last row. Change to size 4 needle, work K2, P2 ribbing for 2 inches.
